Soprano Macey Trussell is celebrated as a captivating voice in her generation. Critics have praised Trussell's performances, recognizing her as one of "the next generation of great musical artists.”
Recognized for her achievements, Trussell has received numerous awards. Her vocal abilities have been acknowledged by competitions such as the Oklahoma Ladies Music Club Voice competition, the Naftzger Young Artist program, and the NATSAA Texoma Region competition. Trussell has consistently ranked among the top performers in the Oklahoma District Classical Treble Voice competition.
Trussell began her opera career at Oklahoma City University, where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree. Under the guidance of coaches Jan McDaniel, Charles Koslowske, and Joseph Fitzgerald, she refined her vocal technique and deepened her understanding of the art form. In 2022, she participated in the prestigious Leona Mitchell Master Class. Working with conductors like Alexander Micklethwate and Jan McDaniel allowed Trussell to hone her musicality and stagecraft, creating captivating performances that resonate with audiences.
Throughout her career, Ms. Trussell has embodied a wide range of captivating characters on the operatic stage. Notable roles include Mimi in "La Boheme," Micaela in "Carmen" and Rosalinde in "Die Fledermaus." In September 2023, she will take the stage as the Governess in Benjamin Britten's haunting opera, "The Turn of the Screw," presented by Painted Sky Opera.
